Entrepreneurs inform themselves about EU-GDPR
More than 70 company representatives informed themselves on Wednesday at the invitation of Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Unna (WFG) and Wirtschaftsförderung Hamm about the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-DSGVO). The participants learned about the legal regulations in the rooms of the TECHNOPARK KAMEN and dealt with the challenges for the respective company.
Background: On May 25, 2018, the new EU General Data Protection Regulation will finally replace the law currently applicable in Germany. For companies, the change has many consequences. For modern business models and marketing are hardly conceivable in times of increasing digitization without the use of personal data. With the introduction of the EU GDPR almost all companies are in demand to deal with their previous data protection practice.
As part of the workshop, the innovations from the legal, the operational-organizational and the technical perspective were examined. Organizer Ansgar Burchard from the WFG invited various experts to do this.
Attorney Christian Voelkel (LOGIN Partners Rechtsanwälte) explained the issue from a legal perspective. Christopher Reher (Platform 161 BV) showed how a digital marketing agency can succeed in integrating the new rules into everyday business life. Finally, Bernhard Kurpicz (Orga Tech Solution Engineering Consulting GmbH) presented the changes that the new regulation brings with it from a mid-sized business perspective. Following the presentations, company representatives had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange views.
The event was part of the project “Knowledge Creates Success” by Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Unna and Wirtschaftsförderung Hamm and was funded by the European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
